In fact, people will believe such a thing, or better still, they'll fail to believe it and click the "no thank you" "button". I put the word button in inverted commas since the whole of this thing is one single link to some godawful site or other that is there to con you.
Often you don't think when you use a computer, you just hit buttons and see what happens. This is what these scammer/spammers/spanners rely on.
