I was looking at the chicken counter at Tesco today and found a deal where you got 2 breasts and 2 thais (sic). I was impressed. You get two people from Thailand!? Brilliant. That's a bargain. Then I thought it might be a spelling error. I tried to explain it to the man behind the counter, but his English was more broken than the spelling. It's not his fault. He probably didn't write the sign. It was a handwritten amendment to a printed sign. Why shouldn't "thai" spell "thigh"? Well, it just doesn't. The man's English may have been his second language, but I bet he can spell better in his language than the person who wrote the sign can spell in their first language of English. I also thought he was surprisingly helpful, despite not having a clue what I was going on about.
