It's been an insurance heavy week, with my car insurer ringing up to tell me that, as I hadn't sent them my no claims discount proof letter, they'd chased it up themselves and discovered that I had been incorrect. I in fact have 9 years no claims and get more money off my premium. They have decided to send me 25 quid. Thank you car insurance people. I shall think of you whenever I drive. Hopefully I will not get too distracted and crash.

Then there was the call from the bank manager. He's noticed that I have another mortgage going out. He was touting for business. I told him instead that he had apparently mis-sold me an insurance policy on my Newcastle house and that I felt aggrieved for having paid into a policy which would not have paid up had there been a claim. He is looking into it. A full refund would be a totally amazing result. I should probably try to get one, but I suspect that it's a bit extreme a solution.
